Dates: Meet every Monday morning, the morning of the 1st Friday of the month and the morning of the fourth Sunday of the month.

Generally, walks are about 6 miles long and are graded 1-4 with 1 being an easy walk. The meeting location is dependent on the walk. We issue a monthly programme which you can view on this page.

We ask people to wear clothes appropriate to the season. Walking boots are recommended and most of us carry walking poles. Bring a picnic lunch. Sometimes we call into a café on the way home.

We aim to make everybody welcome, to gain improved fitness and to have a sociable time.

Our group has found it a great benefit to be able to walk regularly during the pandemic. Walking gave us great positive effects on our mental health and wonderful companionship. The friends we have made over the months and years meant that it was a real pleasure to arrange walks from couples or groups of six and finally back to our full programme.

On Monday mornings we now attract around 12-14 members of our group to explore Somerset in all its glory.  We also walk on the first Friday of every month. Many new members have joined over the last 2 years and they regularly contribute walks to the Programme.

We cover those areas of Somerset within about 30 –40 minutes by car from Bridgwater.  Popular areas with the group are the Quantocks, Mendips, Blackdowns and the Levels and Moors,

We car share to reduce the impact on the planet. If you would like to stretch your legs and get a bit more exercise please contact Linda at 01278 426451 or Ian at 01278 722967 or use the Email link above.
