It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” as a well-known author once wrote and we made the best of it in Book Group by keeping going apart from Lockdown times.
We started this year with “The Dry” and are finishing at our Christmas gathering with “Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy. In between, we have been “Half a World Away” and “Where the Crawdads Sing” among others. Discussion about the book of the month is always lively and we are sufficiently comfortable with each other to announce after a succession of “I couldn’t put it downs” that “I couldn’t get into it and didn’t read it all!”
