Bridgwater u3a

Our u3a is a self-help, self-managed, lifelong learning cooperative for people no longer in full-time work. It provides opportunities for members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications but for fun.  The word “university” is used in its original sense of people coming together to share and pursue learning in all its forms.  u3a members are encouraged to share their knowledge, skills, interests and experiences and undertake, without payment, the many and varied tasks necessary to run the u3a.

Interest Groups meet throughout the month, usually during the day, in members’ homes or in hired halls or rooms.  Please contact the Group Leader if you are considering joining a group.

If you have any particular interests and would like to explore the possibility of a new group, please contact Ian Rix at the email above who would be happy to help. This is especially true if you are willing to lead a group yourself, help will be given to aspiring group leaders!
